Charity Festival Gig

IT’S BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND. The Uttoxeter Beer and Cider Festival - PARTY ON THE PITCH at Oldfields Sports and Social Club returns in June.

LIVE SPRINGSTEEN MUSIC MEET OTHER FANS HELP A GOOD CAUSE A Glory Days charity gig with a free beer for E Street Fans.

The date - Friday June 10th. The place - Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

Glory Days, the UK’s longest-established Springsteen tribute, are the main attraction on the opening night of the Party on the Pitch, a small beer and music festival in the heart of England. The band have offered their services free (for which we’re very grateful) in support of a great cause - free prostate cancer tests for men over 50.

Prostate cancer affects one in eight men. Thousands of the annual tests have been taken since Uttoxeter Lions Club began the scheme, and dozens of lives have been saved by early diagnosis. The project is funded by this festival.

Tickets for Glory Days are £9.50 plus booking fee in advance online (£12 on the door). They’re the only band playing on the Friday night of the beer festival and it’ll be their usual fantastic set, with just the right mix of hits, classics, rarities and covers - just like an E Street Band show in fact, which is as good as it’s likely to get this year.

Everyone receives a free SOUVENIR BEER MUG, a programme, and, as a special bonus this year only, there’s a FREE BEER or CIDER for anyone wearing any item of E Street Fans merchandise.

Tickets have just gone on sale at Eventbrite.

If you plan on staying overnight in or near Uttoxeter, which is an historic market town, you can upgrade to a two-day ticket for £15 to include Saturday’s event from 1-11pm with more bands, more beer and almost certainly more Springsteen songs.

Uttoxeter is about an hour and a half by road from Manchester and Sheffield, and less than an hour from Birmingham, Derby and Nottingham. The venue Oldfields Sports and Social Club ST14 7JX is a few hundred yards walk from the town centre and from Uttoxeter railway station.

There’s a Caravan and Motor Home Club site at Uttoxeter Racecourse, and reasonably priced hotel accommodation in the town. Meadows Way Guest House is a friendly, family-run option.
